Bogdan was born in Romania, and some of his first drawings graced the ceiling of his parents’ newly purchased car.
After studying monumental public art in high school and winning a national grand prize in painting, he switched continents and enrolled at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. While there, he had a brief affair with glassblowing and illustration before falling passionately for graphic design.
At Landor and Lippincott, he has led and designed a wide range of brand identity programs. He is particularly proud of the work he has done for PBS, Lincoln Financial, Farmers Insurance, and the NFL. He also likes to believe he redrew the Starbucks siren in the likeness of his wife.
He continues to be inspired by the challenge of shaping brands that are both strategically clear and visually enduring.
